Olive Hospitality Signs MoU with Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority to Develop 2,000 Hotel Keys

Olive Hospitality Enters Andhra Pradesh Tourism Growth Initiative

Olive Hospitality, the hospitality arm of Embassy Group, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority to support the development of hospitality infrastructure and unlock private investment across the state.

Scale and Investment Scope

The agreement involves the development of approximately 2,000 branded hotel keys across key destinations in Andhra Pradesh, including Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Vijayawada, and Guntur, with a projected investment of around ₹500 crore from third-party owners and investors. The initiative is expected to generate employment for approximately 700 people.

Government Support Framework

The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority will facilitate approvals and clearances, enable access to identified land parcels and tourism zones, extend incentives under the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Policy (2024–2029), and support investor outreach initiatives.

Strategic Locations and Regional Context

The four destinations targeted by this partnership represent distinct tourism circuits across Andhra Pradesh. Tirupati and Visakhapatnam are being developed as iconic tourism destinations, with Tirupati rapidly emerging as a major hospitality and tourism destination with several national and international hotel brands entering the city. The government aims to bring 50,000 hotel rooms across the state by 2029 and plans to open at least two new hotels every month.

Vijayawada and Guntur serve as business and commercial hubs in the region, with growing corporate and leisure travel demand. This multi-city approach allows Olive Hospitality to position branded accommodation across high-traffic travel corridors.

Olive Hospitality's Operational Model

Introduced in 2019, Olive Hospitality operates as the hospitality arm of Embassy Group and runs a multi-brand and technology enabled platform with businesses across management, design, and technology, with its portfolio including Olive Hotels, Open Hotels, and partnerships with international brands such as Spark by Hilton.

According to Kahraman Yigit, Co-founder and CEO of Olive Hospitality, "Andhra Pradesh is seeing significant growth as a key destination for tourism and travel across multiple circuits. Our focus through this partnership is to accelerate that growth by building a strong network of branded hospitality assets that make travel across the state more seamless, predictable, and scalable—benefiting both travellers and investors."

Asset-Light Expansion Strategy

The MoU represents an asset-light expansion model where Olive Hospitality will provide brand management, operational expertise, and technology platforms to third-party hotel owners and investors across the state. The MoU establishes a framework for long-term collaboration between Olive Hospitality and the Government of Andhra Pradesh to support tourism growth and infrastructure development in the state.

This partnership aligns with broader momentum in India's organized hospitality sector, where branded operators are scaling rapidly to meet rising demand from domestic and international travelers seeking quality, consistency, and modern amenities across multiple price segments and property types.
